This 4 hour field day includes ID of common herbs found in the hedge & meadow, making hawthorn leaf & flower herbal preparations, harvesting hawthorn to take for home use, and a glimpse of the fascinating history & folklore of Crataegus: The Generative Genus. 
 
Bonus: a day in nature, fresh air and good company! 
 
This foray takes place on a private farm in a 50+ year old hawthorn hedge. The hawthorns are diverse here. You'll learn how to tend & harvest hawthorn trees. You'll learn to see the structure, biodiversity and habitat found in a hedge.  Learn how hawthorn hedges support human & ecological health and vitality.
 
This is a hands-on practicum. You will harvest and make hawthorn herbal preparations with the leaves and flowers in the wise woman tradition.
 
Once registered, you'll receive a list of tools & medicine making supplies to bring along for this take along~make along field day in the hedge!
